Location: London, UK
Course dates: September 2022 to September 2023

This Spatial Design MA course focuses on design diversity and inclusive spaces and is centred on contemporary design practices and theories of spatial politics and the ways in which design enables the creation of inclusive physical spaces.
In this way, some of the questions asked on the programme are: how do we create spaces for audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds? How can we develop inclusive environments that reflect people’s needs?
Inclusive design practices and approaches to design for diverse peoples drives exploration through interdisciplinary research methodologies, design engineering techniques and engagement with design in the real world.
The Spatial Design MA students embark on a deep learning journey through contemporary creative culture by participating in design work led placements and research-practice explorations. The placements are carefully tailored to student research areas and needs.
Employability is enhanced through networking opportunities, lectures by industry professionals and researchers and shared sessions with other master’s programmes.
Supplementary sessions in IT skills and coding are also provided alongside opportunities for internships and further postgraduate studies.
Spatial Design MA graduates become employed in governmental or not-for-profit organisations, museums and architecture and interior design practices.
