The MArch course at University of Huddersfield prepares students with aspirational visions grounded in engaged and critical knowledge about society and in advanced techniques of construction, and with advanced digital skills that enable them to thrive in a fast-changing world.
Our MArch course is future-oriented. Students are inspired to imagine alternative futures and transformed ecologies that meet the challenges of the environmental crisis and technological change. In parallel, we instruct students in current challenges of professional practice and techniques of construction. We equip students with a range of design skills: from hands-on modelling to advanced digital-design skills and computation.
The course operates in newly-constructed facilities, shared with courses in the Arts, Media and Built Environment to form a rich interdisciplinary milieu within the newly-merged School of Arts and Humanities. Course tutors bring diverse experiences and cultural backgrounds, and draw on the rich, diverse research pursued within the school. The course is RIBA-validated; the school also offers a RIBA-validated Part-3 course.
