At NSLC’s Journalism and Broadcasting course, students explore how powerful storytelling informs and inspires audiences across print, digital and on-air platforms.
Participants will study essential methods of researching, interviewing and fact-checking that will strengthen their voice as journalists. From breaking news to feature segments, students will see how creativity, curiosity and integrity come together to shape the world of modern media.
The programme explores journalism and broadcasting through newsroom and broadcast production simulations that bring the reporting process to life. Students will work as part of a media team to investigate stories, write scripts and produce on-air segments that reflect the fast-paced energy of a real newsroom.
Industry insights are provided through interactions with guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds, bringing practical knowledge and real-world experiences to the course.
The programme goes beyond the classroom, offering a new perspective on journalism through field trips that uncover how the industry works behind the scenes. A mix of educational and sightseeing tours allow participants to explore the city surrounding the university.
Each NSLC programme contains a leadership curriculum designed to teach skills that can apply to all areas of life. Workshops on personality styles, communication and listening, resilience and empathy set the foundation for a successful future, no matter where it may lead.
