Course: Design Diplomacy MA
Location: London, UK
Course dates: September 2022 to September 2023
Application deadline: 31 August 2022
The MA Design Diplomacy course focuses on diversity and inclusion, and provides students with access to a vibrant and innovative field of research that has successfully established itself as its own stand-alone theory and practice.
The University of Greenwich’s School of Design provides the most unique MA Design Diplomacy programme in the world. A design-led Master of Arts, the course specifically engages students in design practice as a practical tool for governmental organisations and policy development, framing the future of design as a socially responsible practice.
Led by specialists on the intersections between governance and social design, design work is implemented through practice, design-led placements and policy development.
Throughout the programme we invite students to identify specific areas of interest within creative and cultural diplomacy that they would like to engage with and encourage them to interact with diverse communities, marginalised groups etc. in a process wherein they explore the exchange of language, religion, culture and politics.
In this way, some of the questions asked are: how can design diplomacy be seen as a way of exchanging ideas, traditions and values in a way that can strengthen relationships on a global level? What are the tools to promote national and international interests?
Employability on the programme is enhanced through networking opportunities on placements in governmental and non-governmental organisations, embassies and more.
Applications to this course have now closed.
