Competition overview
This competition challenges designers to imagine the transformation of Codroipo’s main sports district into a contemporary urban campus: a place where sports, culture and everyday life converge to shape a vibrant civic hub.
Participants are asked to develop a comprehensive masterplan capable of integrating existing facilities with new public spaces, improving accessibility and usability across the entire area.
At the heart of the competition lies the design of a new multipurpose gym, a flexible and dynamic structure that can host sports events as well as cultural activities and gatherings.
Beyond the required elements, the contest encourages proposals that activate the district with informal spaces – skateparks, fitness paths, intergenerational areas – or new community functions through the reuse of existing buildings.
The Sport District aims at redefining the role of sports in today’s cities – not just as competition – but as a catalyst for urban and social regeneration.
The proposals should be a new model of diffused sports squares, open to all, at all times of the day and year.
Eligibility and judging criteria
The competition is open to architects, designers, students, urbanists, engineers, artists, enthusiasts and anyone interested in the fields of design and architecture.
